Boulder Elite Lacrosse: Club Guide for Boulder County Boys
Boulder Elite is a boys club lacrosse program for Boulder County. It takes boys who are new to the game as well as boys aiming for top-tier competition, and it enters them in regional and national tournaments.
Who Runs Boulder Elite
Boulder Elite is a direct partnership between LXTC Lacrosse and Matt Kelley, the head boys lacrosse coach at Fairview High School. Kelley co-directs Boulder Elite boys with his business partner Brad MacHamer. Both men are listed as co-founders of the Foothills Pack girls club program, and MacHamer also co-directs the Foothills Pack.
LXTC and ADRLN Colorado
ADRLN Colorado was formerly known as LXTC Lacrosse. It has worked with youth, high school and college athletes in the Denver area since 2009. The old lxtclacrosse.com address now redirects to ADRLN Colorado's site, which lists 17 years in Colorado, 250 NCAA commits and 30 former NCAA players and coaches on staff.
The parent Adrenaline Lacrosse site describes the relationship differently. It treats LXTC as a separate partner: Adrenaline Colorado works through its partnership with LXTC Lacrosse Training Center, which is led by Trevor Tierney and Matt Brown. The Boulder Elite site footer still reads "Powered by LXTC."
The LXTC Names on the Staff List
- Trevor Tierney: LXTC co-founder, former Princeton University standout and former Team USA goalie.
- Matt Brown: LXTC co-founder and president, current University of Denver head coach and Canadian National Team head coach.
- Bill Tierney: LXTC founder and Hall of Fame Division I men's head coach with seven NCAA championship titles. He is a former head coach at DU and Princeton and the current Philadelphia Waterdogs head coach.
On-Field Staff
- Roland Moellenberg: on-field director and associate head coach at Fairview High School.
- Riley Curran: on-field director, head coach at Erie High School and head coach at Denver Elite.
- Adam Michaels: offensive strategist and offensive assistant at Fairview High.
The staff page names 13 more coaches beyond these. The club draws its coaches from DU, LXTC and top Boulder-area high schools.
Who Boulder Elite Is For
Boulder Elite was created to give Boulder County boys a local club lacrosse option without leaving the community. Players follow one consistent style of play from 3rd grade through high school.
The club serves six cities:
- Boulder
- Louisville
- Lafayette
- Broomfield
- Erie
- Longmont
Boys play alongside future high school teammates at Fairview, Boulder, Monarch, Erie and other schools, instead of being scattered across Denver programs. The club also stresses minimal travel and less driving on I-25, which saves families time and money.
The club does not set out to replace or compete with local recreation programs.
Where It Leads
When players enter high school, they can try out for the top teams in the shared Boulder Elite / Denver Elite system. From there they split into two tracks:
| Track | Where they play |
|---|---|
| Top players | Major national recruiting events with Denver Elite |
| Developing players | Regional and competitive recruiting tournaments with Boulder Elite |
The club calls this a development pipeline: Boulder Elite, then Denver Elite, then college exposure. Training includes position-specific skill work and small-group development. DU, LXTC and high school coaches train the club's local coaches so that the coaching lines up from level to level. The club's values spell ELITE: Excellence, Leadership, Integrity, Teamwork, Evolution.
How It Fits With Boulder Valley Lacrosse
Boulder Valley Lacrosse (BVL) runs programs for boys in grades 1–8 at every experience level. BVL names Boulder Elite as its recommended option for players who want more games and development in the off-season.
BVL's calendar has three parts:
- Spring League: open to players of every experience level, beginners included. Registration for the 2026 Spring League was set to open January 1, 2026, and some age groups could close as early as January 31.
- Fall League: for players with at least one season of competitive lacrosse.
- Winter: BVL Saturday Sessions at the CU Rec Center in November, December and January.

Getting Into Boulder Elite in Boulder County
Registration is closed for now. Neither the ADRLN Colorado listing nor the BVL listing for Boulder Elite is accepting sign-ups. Families with questions can email the Boulder Elite directors, Matt Kelley and Brad MacHamer, through the ADRLN Colorado program listing linked above. No fees are posted, so ask the directors about cost before you plan a season.
- ADRLN Colorado registration: ADRLN Colorado's open programs, including its new Winter Box Training Series.
For winter, there are two indoor options: Boulder Elite's December–January block at the CU Indoor Practice Facility and BVL Saturday Sessions at the CU Rec Center. ADRLN Colorado also runs a Winter Box Training Series, which it describes as part of an effort to grow box lacrosse in Colorado. If box or indoor play is new to your family, start with what box lacrosse is and how it differs from the field game.
